Visit Crau

La Plaine de la Crau is bounded by the delta of the Rhone, the Alpilles, the Berre lake and the Mediterranean. It is the only biotope steppe in Western Europe.

It proposes an extraordinary diversity of landscapes. The green meadows give the famous hay of Crau AOC, privileged food of the biggest horse farm studs. The dry and stony plain is home to huge flocks of sheep, including the well-known Merinos d'Arles. A pastoral activity that dates back to antiquity since we still admired the remains of large Roman sheepfolds.

Visit the quarries of the lights at Les Baux de Provence

During your stay in our hotel you can visit the Baux of Provence and in particular the stone-quarries of lights.

The quarry visits reveal the exceptionally mineral side of this particularly unique place. These quarries were dug in time to extract limestone. This stone was used for the construction of the Château and also the Cité des Baux.
